At one point in the video, we use Idaho’s most famous crop—the potato—as a metaphor. Just as a potato grows best when deeply rooted, so too do communities thrive when they remain connected to their core. But, as the potato also nourishes and feeds many, Idaho must find ways to nourish new relationships, communities, and ideas while staying rooted in its values. We pray that Idaho will find this balance, becoming a place where both long-standing residents and newcomers feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
